A landmark achievement

It stands 224 metres tall. Its shape is unmistakeable. With 18,000 tonnes of steel, 300 miles of cable and the fastest panoramic lifts in Europe, the Leadenhall Building in EC3 – or the “Cheesegrater” as it’s fondly called – is truly one of London’s most iconic and distinctive new landmarks. We can be hugely proud of the part we’re playing in its development – full commercial fitout in the same building for the two anchor tenants – AON and Amlin.

The world’s number one insurance broker, AON, is moving its London operations and global HQ to floors 4 to 13. The design we’re implementing for them in partnership with main contractor Overbury and architect Gensler will “reflect the visual language of the exterior and have the same wow factor”. Our work on their reception, business lounge, amphitheatre rooms, glazed wall panelling and specialist joinery will all contribute to a great working environment at the very centre of the insurance world.

For Amlin, a global specialty insurer and reinsurer, we’re taking care of the complete specialist joinery package including reception and client-facing areas, breakout rooms, banquette seating, Corten steel feature wall panelling, Tineo veneering and fumed oak veneers on floors 19 to 24 and on level 45 – the home of their spectacular new boardroom. Working again with Overbury and this time with architect TP Bennett, we’re helping them bring to life a real “statement of intent and confidence in the future”.

But as well as fitting out a landmark building, it’s also been a landmark year for our own business. We’ve been busier than ever, and taken on more people. Our order book is strong – including projects for UBS, Google and Bloomberg. Our reputation in the LIVING market is growing too, with projects like Centrepoint for Brookfield Multiplex and One Tower Bridge for Berkeley Homes.

A big thank you to everyone who’s worked so hard to make this year such a success.
