Size matters

With numerous projects on the go requiring a constant stream of materials, storage can become an issue. So we are certainly making the most of the additional space now afforded by our new processing plant in Laindon, which has already proved useful on the UBS Broadgate scheme.

The 8,000 square foot warehouse is located just four miles from our main Basildon factory and only 30 miles from Central London where most of our clients are based.

It is currently home to 11 carpenters & joiners, a Production Manager, Tracker Manager, Dispatch Manager, workshop foremen and charge hand as well as a dedicated fork lift operator.

The extra space means that where necessary, we have more room for creating full scale mock-ups to help clients make informed decisions during the design resolution process and it has already been used in this context for Bloomberg, Centre Point and 88 St. James St projects. It is also used as an assembly hub for the larger items on current schemes such as 6 Pancras Square, prior to transportation and installation.

With the pace of work showing no signs of slowing down, it certainly looks like the Laindon site will be fully utilised for the foreseeable future.
