BTMU/MUSI Bank

Bamboo columns, origami fabric, silk wall panelling … what else would you use for a major Japanese bank? We helped to bring the architect’s inspiration and distinctive iconic design to life – from the first floor reception through to open plan offices, meeting rooms, AV area, breakout spaces, café/restaurant and trading floor.

With a growth rate of one meter per day, bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth. Its environmental advantages and FSC certification made it the natural choice for ten floors of bespoke joinery with a true oriental twist – bamboo veneer and columns integrating accessible LED lighting.

The design also included Kirkstone slate reception desks and furniture, display cases, polished concrete planters, origami fabric wall panelling, silk wall panelling and high gloss lacquers to create a subtle ambience in the client facing areas.
