Spanning 1 million sq ft in the heart of the City of London, Bloomberg’s European headquarters have certainly attracted attention. It isn’t just the scale of this prestigious project which has turned heads; the dynamic interiors of this incredible building are some of the world’s most sustainable, proving to be one of our most memorable fit outs to date.
Working on the sixth and seventh floors of this vast office space, we created an extensive joinery package for the Pantry and the Ha-Ha above. This unique floor not only encompasses a collection of bespoke curved meeting booths – comprising custom-dyed Spinneyback Forte leather, seamless Corian backs and glacier white Corian table tops – but also provides an intriguing optical illusion known as a ha-ha. When seated in the booth, you’ll see the Pantry below, but stand behind the flowing glass behind and you wouldn’t know it was there at all!
With 6000 employees to feed on a daily basis, the Pantry caters on a scale not dissimilar to the building itself. By creating a range of large food island units featuring integrated lighting, stylish sprayed metals, veneer and Corian, we helped to provide an elegant space for staff to meet and eat. We also built a series of state-of-the-art drinks island units (each measuring 6.5 metres long), supplying a wide range of hot and cold drinks for employees to enjoy at one of the bespoke poseur tables finished in iced walnut, which we crafted using cutting-edge 3D veneering techniques.
