Growing in their memory – Brown & Carroll sponsors memorial tree at King John School

Brown & Carroll was proud to sponsor the planting of a new memorial tree at King John School in Benfleet, Essex. The tree provides a living tribute to former pupils of the school.

The tree, a Crab Apple (Malus Evereste), was selected for its year-round visual interest. Standing between 3 and 3.5 metres, when the specimen matures it will feature heavy spring blossom, small ornamental fruit and a striking autumn colour, ensuring it remains a focal point throughout the seasons. It was supplied and planted by Essex Tree Brothers.

The project held particular significance for our Project Director, Darryl Buckley, who is a former student of King John School. Having attended the school in the 1990s, Darryl returned to the campus more than 25 years on to personally hand over the tree and meet with staff.

We are proud to support King John School with this lasting addition to their grounds.
