Firstly, we’ve acquired two new large IVECO trucks. This brings our fleet up to five 7.2 tonne vehicles, along with a 3.2 tonne panel van. We needed to increase the size of the fleet not only to transport materials to a growing number of projects, but also to move items efficiently between the new warehouse locations on our own site.
All our vehicles now run on HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil), which has cut our fleet CO2 emissions by nearly 90%. We take care to source HVO responsibly, avoiding fuel that includes palm-based feedstocks and any trace of fossil fuels. Our supplier, Crown Oils, only provides HVO that is derived from used cooking oils and supplied by strictly vetted producers that do not source from Russia or China.
Finally, we’re working hard to maintain our Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Gold accreditation. To be re-approved under the latest FORS Gold standard, we need to develop, maintain and implement a decarbonation strategy. Our switch to HVO is an important part of this, and we’ll continue to do all we can to build an industry-leading fleet that grows to meet our business’s demands.
