Trust Links is an independent charity for mental health and wellbeing, serving people across South East Essex. One of the ways it helps those with mental health problems is via therapeutic gardening. The organisation’s Growing Together project operates at five gardens in Westcliff, Shoeburyness, Rochford, Thundersley and Cressing Temple. Each garden is different – service users can look after the chickens at Westcliff, take part in pottery workshops at Rochford and join in with DIY projects at Thundersley.

With so many gardens, Trust Links needs lots of raised beds. Recently, we were delighted to create and donate wooden raised beds for the charity. We created them in layers which simply had to be screwed together after delivery.

Christina Ravinet, Deputy Growing Together Manager, was delighted with the new beds. She wrote: “Thanks so much to you and your colleague for bringing the timber to us. Having the layers already assembled was very useful indeed. We were still able to get the residents involved in assembly, without the stress of potentially ending up with wonky raised beds!”

Trevor Baker, our HSEQ Manager, organised the building and delivery of the planters. He said:

“I am so pleased that Brown & Carroll was able to help this vital charity. Therapeutic gardening is so valuable to supporting people’s mental health and I’m sure the new raised beds will last for many years to come. We’re already organising a second delivery!”
