We at Brown & Carroll are aware that keeping our staff members hydrated will help them to perform at their very best throughout the work day. As a result, we decided to invest in watercoolers from AquAid who support sustainable solutions to ending poverty in Africa. By funding education, sanitation and clean drinking water, AquAid empower children and adults to rise above their circumstances and strengthen their communities.

Our unique relationship with AquAid means that with each purchase we make, an automatic donation is made to the Africa Trust. These funds are used directly to build fresh drinking water wells known as ‘Elephant Pumps’ in areas in Africa where it is needed the most, such as in schools and villages.

One such pump – a modified version of an age old Chinese rope pulley system – is currently being installed in Africa on our behalf and will be a much needed source of clean drinking water for many. Not only that, it will allow children – often girls – to reduce the distance they must go to fetch fresh water, giving them back valuable time that they can spend in school.

Our organisation’s name will be proudly displayed on our well and we look forward to adding some photos and letters of thanks from the villagers to our site in the near future.
