The Ivy is a London Theatreland institution, attracting stars from stage and screen for more than 100 years. So, we had to create a destination restaurant status for the new Ivy Asia at St Pauls, London.

Bringing a concept design to life

The completely stripped back restaurant was a real blank canvas. Every surface had a bespoke finish, which had to be designed, fabricated and installed. We produced a 360sqm bespoke, back-lit, semi-precious agate stone floor, a coffered dragon ceiling, amber onyx bar and framed mirrored wall panelling. These, along with a full-scale pagoda for the main welcome desk, and a 12ft Samurai, created a luxurious and theatrical space.

Full commitment and herculean efforts

As the principal contractor, managing 14 sub-contractors, we procured and managed all trades, from plumbing to audio. Creating the lavish interiors that diners see when they enter the restaurant, called for a herculean effort. To complete a project with this many elements and to this calibre, we needed the commitment of everyone involved.

Given the time we had to deliver the fit out, this was our most complex project to date and meant the business working 24/7.
