The Living Wage is calculated by the Living Wage Foundation, it’s higher than the government set National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage (these are the minimums that employers must pay).
The Living Wage is voluntarily paid by some 12,000 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage that meets their essential needs. We are delighted to join them.
To gain accreditation, we had to ensure we were paying the Living Wage to our staff (which we already were to 99%). We then had to check that our supply chain was compliant. Although apprentices fall outside of the requirement, we already pay our apprentices an enhanced salary above the government’s minimum.
We know that if we treat our staff fairly and value them, we’ll maintain our position as a company people aspire to work for, work with and stay with. It shows our commitment to fair pay for not only our staff but those in our supply chain.
