Renovation of ‘The Hub’ transforms the lives of young Londoners

Until recently, the Renaissance Foundation didn’t have a proper community space for its young people. That’s now changed, thanks to a full renovation of ‘The Hub’ in the crypt of St Botolph-without-Aldgate Church.

Brown and Carroll was one of a number of contractors asked by Overbury PLC to lend a hand with the project. We created and installed a tea point with a laminate splashback, as well as a tall counter in the ‘Inspiration Room’. We also added new cupboards in the ‘Conversation Room’ plus a new door for the ‘Creative Room’.

Thanks to the kindness and efforts of a range of contractors, The Renaissance Foundation’s young people have a modern, attractive place to meet and support each other.

The Hub opened its doors on 12th September with a champagne reception. The charity is delighted with the new space and gives ‘grateful thanks to all our donors and supporters who have made this happen.’

Paul Drake, Projects Director at Brown & Carroll, sums up why this project was so important to us.

‘We wanted to give our help to the younger generation, creating a space for young patients and carers. We hope the Renaissance Foundation continues to thrive in its valuable work and we’re thrilled to have given something back to the city where we do so much of our work.’
