Twenty bags of plastic waste removed from local river

On a cold and grey December morning, 16 paddleboarders ventured out onto the river. It was the last litter clean of 2021 and the cold weather didn’t deter them.

The volunteers paddle boarded from Sanford Mill in Chelmsford towards Chelmsford town centre, via Barnes Mill. The river clean removed chairs, traffic cones, a mountain bike, shopping trolleys and 20 bags of plastic waste.

“It was another stella effort by all involved. Thanks to my paddleboarding team at SUPsect for all of their hard work. I’m really proud that Brown & Carroll continue to support the river cleans by providing the gloves, buckets and grabbers,”
